The 989M2 will take the nickle magazines that can be found for sale today for the modern Marlin 795 in 7 and 10 rd capacity. Be aware the 989M2 is more scarce than the 99M1. It is my belief that a 989M2 is excellent condition is worth more than $150 retail. My very first .22 rifle bought in the early 70's was a 989M2. Very accurate and reliable. Mechanically identical to the Model 995 that replaced it. The only difference is the M2 has the handguard/barrel band and different sights.
